Lively baskets full of tasteful things prepared in the morning in the kitchen of the Lyceo (the “scammaro” omelette with black olives and capers, cheese and borage paté sandwiches, bread balls and almond pastry) accompany the guests who choose the tours that we design and organize thoroughly: skilled guides, trekking maps, cozy stops.

A Paestum with its ancient temples, fundamental places for rituals that still seem to animate at dusk. A tour along the traces of the ancient town to read, in its stones, the (unwritten) history of the Greeks who chose it to satisfy their desire for power and unknown.

➤ A Velia where Parmenides – at the dawn of the Western world – though up its destiny and where the wonderful Porta Rosa testifies to the daring engineering skills of the Greeks.

➤ A Napoli, unafraid to discover its beauty hidden behind too many commonplaces, clouded by so many bad habits, offended by such negligence.

Guided with a gentle touch by people who live and deeply know this city, you can spend the day discovering unusual landscapes, the wonderful churches, the alleys full of life and shops (clay nativity figures, ancient jewelry, paper flowers, small antique items) that resist to the invasion of large shopping outlets, the unique character of the historical center, the charm of the Greek part underlying the city.
And during the short stops, you can reward yourself with the best pizza in the world, a slice of casatiello, a dish of crispy battered squids, a slice of pizza with scarola (a kind of lettuce) or a sandwich with sausage and “friarielli” at Salumeria Panzallegra at Piazza Vittoria.

Mount Cicerale, be welcome to an ancient private mansion by following habits that “make you feel at home”. To have a pizza made with natural yeast and dressed with small tasty tomatoes from the vegetable garden growing a few steps away from the kitchen, to taste the soup made of those chickpeas after which the village is named.

Along the bed of the rivers that flow from the mountains to the sea turbulently and, sometimes, quietly. Hidden designers of those wonderful natural caverns that are the other side of Cilento. Chests of webs that seems to be made of crystal, rocky chapels, grave symbols of an ancient faith. Monasteries, feeble traces of the Brazilian fathers who lived these places marking them with their hard-working habits.

➤ The byzantine and baroque churches, Mediterranean witnesses of a half-cast devotion, which turned goddesses into Madonnas, almost without smooth transition, by keeping archaic meanings, allegories, rituals.

By boat to reach Punta Licosa, to take a wonderful dip in the sea and then, back on board, to taste a delicious “acqua sale” (a traditional soup), that catches and reminds the colors and the splendor of wonderful food made of good things such as toasted bread, ripe small tomatoes, the rich olive oil, oregano, basil and sea water which makes this Mediterranean dish unique.

Along the river Calore, close to Paestum, along a track that tells stories of ancient pilgrims, rocky churches, warriors engraved in the rock, mysterious guardians of a civilization which, in a measure, still resists.

Along the route of the mills, which runs along the winding course of the rivers, sketching a landscape full of charm for the wealth of traces left by the peoples who lived there.

➤ In the orchid valley, a miracle of beauty that – from April to June – sees the blooming of more than 100 species of this flower. You will be guided by an expert through the rooms of the museum of the herbs in Teggiano.

Padula to visit the beautiful Certosa (Monastery) and admire its helical
staircase, being amazed by its large kitchen.
